Biography Lailyn worked on planetary habitability in a REU in summer 2024. She authored a AAS Research Note (“Reassessing Ocean Retention Rates: The Role of Ocean Formation Time Assumptions in Rocky Exoplanet Studies”) on her results. Publications.
Biography Lucas graduated from UMich in 2022 (after writing Brefka & Becker 2021) with a dual bachelor’s degree in astronomy/astrophysics and interdisciplinary physics and is now a PhD student at Penn State. Publications.

Biography Achintya graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2024, with majors in Applied Math, Engr, & Physics (AMEP) and Astronomy-Physics. His dynamics project involved investigating galactic center dynamics. Achintya is now a PhD student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Biography Thomas graduated from Caltech in 2025 with a major in Mathematics with a minor in astrophysics. His undergraduate astronomy research focused on understanding the origins of Hot Jupiter systems and was published in ApJ.
Biography Drew is now a master’s student at McMaster University, and worked with Becker on characterizing the Kepler-80 system of transiting planets (Weisserman et al. 2023). Publications.
